What We Do

Comprehensive Eye Exams

Our comprehensive eye examinations are designed to address all your visual demands and eye health concerns. The optometrists at Wink Optometry of Westlake assess every aspect of your eye with the latest technology to identify any potential ocular disease or visual impairment. With the proper diagnoses, they are able create and enact the right treatment plans for you, be it a prescription for new glasses, treatment of glaucoma, a timely referral for ocular surgery, etc.

Diabetic Eye Exams

Diabetes is a very prevalent disease that negatively affects the storage and usage of blood sugar in the body. This disease can result in an enormous amount of complications throughout the body, especially in the eyes. Undiagnosed and untreated diabetic eye diseases, such as Diabetic Retinopathy, can lead to blindness. For a patient with diabetes, at least a yearly comprehensive eye exam is a necessary part of routine diabetic care. Prevention is paramount.

Glaucoma Care

Glaucoma is a disease that results in the progressive damage of the optic nerve. Over time, this nerve loss can lead to permanent vision loss. Dr. Peterson is board certified in Glaucoma management. He has the tools, knowledge, and experience needed to diagnose and treat Glaucoma. Proper Glaucoma care starts with a thorough eye exam on a yearly basis.

Eye Emergency Office Visits

Do you have a painful red eye, stye or did you get something in your eye? Flashing lights and floaters appear suddenly or maybe you lost vision rapidly? Is one of your pupils suddenly much larger than the other eye? These are all signs of ocular emergencies that the doctors at Wink Optometry of Westlake can help you with. If you have an eye problem, why not see an eye doctor?

Contact Lenses

At Wink Optometry of Westlake, we fit soft and rigid contact lenses for regular and special use. It all starts with the contact lens fit in conjunction with an eye health exam.

Therapeutic Contacts

From corneal abrasions to dry eye to keratoconus, we use therapeutic lenses to help your eye heal and/or give your eye a “new” optical surface to improve your vision. These lenses can be soft or hard depending on the scenario.

Hard Contacts

These are less common lenses that are rigid and don’t conform to the surface of your eye. This allows for a “new front surface” of the eye, giving you improved optics. Though there are many options in this category, the two main options are corneal gas permeable lenses and scleral gas permeable lenses. These lenses are made to order and unique for every patient.

Soft Contacts

These are the most common kinds of contacts. There are an enormous amount of “off the shelf” options to choose from depending on the material, the vision correction, and the shape. We have you covered for daily and reusable lenses. We fit for distance, astigmatism, and multifocal.

Pre and Postoperative Eye Care

If you have any need for eye surgery, the optometrists at Wink Optometry of Westlake can help you before and after the procedure. Whether it is surgery for cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment, drooping eyelids, or to correct your vision, they can make the right referral and handle your follow up care, if possible.

Optical

Wink Optometry of Westlake’s experienced Opticians will assist you in finding a frame that fits well and prescribing the proper lenses for your needs. We offer nearly any lens type you could want from a variety of manufacturers. See our optical page for a list of frame brands. We are always keeping our styles fresh.

You can order a vast array of contact lenses that can be picked up or sent straight to your door. Order in person, over the phone, or through our online portal HERE.

Feel free to stop in for repairs and adjustments with no optical appointment required.

Special Testing

At Wink Optometry of Westlake, we implement the latest technologies to better assess the health of your eyes. If you have or are at risk of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal holes or tears, etc., our Eidon Camera System and Solix OCT aids in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of hundreds of eye and systemic diseases. We can also image the front of the eye for issues such as keratoconus and dry eye disease among many others. Whether you need these special tests is determined by your doctor of optometry during an exam. However, we do offer specific screenings upon request. Inquire with the front desk.
